Val Chmerkovskiy was suspended from Dancing With the Stars for the night of October 20th. Alan Bersten took his place, and this was all due to a comment Val made toward judge Carrie Ann Inaba. Now, a resurfaced clip shows Val threatening Carrie Ann, but what did he say? Keep reading for more details.
Val Has Been Harsh Toward Carrie Ann Since The Start
Since Season 35 of DWTS began, Val Chmerkovskiy and Carrie Ann Inaba have seemingly butted heads. She has critiqued his partner, Jenna Dewan; she has taken it in, and he has rejected all that she has said. When Val did not appreciate the recent critique that Carrie Ann had handed out on the show, he threatened to slap her via TikTok. He realized this was wrong, so he issued an apology likely to save his job, but he was suspended anyway.

Now, a clip from earlier in the season shows Val threatening Carrie Ann, proving he has had anger toward her for some time. He and Jenna Dewan are discussing Carrie Ann’s comments during an interview when Val says this:
“I know where [Carrie Ann] parks her car. I’m just saying, like, if she doesn’t want a different design…”
Val was visibly upset that Carrie Ann Inaba did not see enough improvement, although he thought they gave her what she wanted. Jenna Dewan shared they would take the critique and use it for the following week. After Val realized what he had said, he tried to make himself sound like he understood and justified his feelings:
“[Jenna] is not wrong. Carrie Ann is right. I guess I was frustrated only because we did address that this week. I thought that [Jenna] did it. So the feedback is correct … last week.”

A Scary Person
After seeing the clip of Val Chmerkovskiy saying he knew where Carrie Ann Inaba parked, fans and followers were scared. Many felt that Carrie Ann has long been harsh and a problem on DWTS. However, after this incident, it reaffirmed that Val was toxic and deserved his punishment:
- He’s an egomaniac!
- he’s scary. she should not have to work with this violent, threatening man.
- What an idiot. In most other jobs, if you made the comments he has made you would be fired.
- Val needs to keep his mouth shut unless he’s looking to be fired. I doubt he wants that and neither is Jenna.
- Val, enough now. Are you looking for more trouble?
Do you think that DWTS should fire Val Chmerkovskiy for bad behavior or not welcome him back next season? Finally, do you think he needs to do more than apologize to Carrie Ann Inaba? Let us know in the comments below.
