Under this plea deal, Steve is now responsible for paying $3,158,923, plus an additional $4,022,124, in restitution to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This settlement was filed by the United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri on October 22.

Speaking with People, attorney John Ross Glover released a statement in regards to the case, sharing that the famous family approves of the development. He shared, “The McBees are happy with this resolution. They’re happy to put this behind them. Under the terms of the settlement, they will pay $3.1 million, which will be credited, subject to government approval, towards and decrease the restitution by the same amount. As the settlement makes clear, McBees deny all wrongdoing alleged in the civil action.”

As noted, this news comes out just one month after Steve reunited with his family after serving nine months of what was originally a two-year sentence. After his release, he shared a clip of life outdoors on Instagram. Setting the post to John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” he wrote that he had “a little more appreciation for the simple things in life” and thanked the “Lord for all the blessings in my life.”
