True crime YouTuber and forensic psychologist Dr. John Paul Garrison is sounding the alarm about how the president may have suffered a focal aware seizure at a recent public event.
Garrison played a clip of Trump giving a speech to NASA at Houston’s Johnson Space Center this past Friday and said that he had a “distinct neurological event.”

“What you just observed was a distinct and concerning neurological event, and you got to watch it cross both hemispheres in his brain,” Garrison said. “You saw his right arm jerk, and then you saw him blink, you heard his voice hesitate, and then you saw his left arm jerk. You literally watched it travel across his brain.”
“To be very clear, these were not simple muscle spasms; this is not something related to pain. You don’t see any pain on his face, and you actually watch it travel from one arm, to his eyes, to his voice, to his left arm.”
“Now, what this is very consistent with is something that we see in people that have had strokes called a focal aware seizure or a focal motor seizure, and this can be focused in one part of the brain, and occasionally, it can spread to both parts of the brain,” he continued. “I’m not insisting that’s what’s going on with him, but it is clearly something neurological, whether it’s post-stroke or something else, but sometimes there’s scarring in the cortical areas, and this can cause focal-aware seizures.”
Garrison isn’t the only mental health expert who believes that Trump suffered a stroke last year. Washington State University Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine Professor Bruce Davidson discussed earlier this year that there is evidence that Trump had a stroke on the left side of his brain.
“I think the stroke was six months ago or more,” Davidson said. “Earlier in 2025, there’s video of him shuffling his feet, which is not what we’d seen him striding on the golf course doing previously. We’ve seen him holding his right hand in his left, cradling. And earlier in the year, in 2025, he was garbling words, which he didn’t do previously, and which he’s improved upon more recently.”
“And he’s also had marked episodes that have been noticed of daytime, excessive sleepiness — medical term, hypersomnolence — which is characteristic of many patients after they’ve had a stroke,” he continued. “And most recently, there was video of him walking down the stairs from Air Force One, holding the banister with his left hand, although he’s right-handed, and all of this is consistent with having had a stroke on the left side of his brain. A stroke is an area of infarction. It’s an area of dead tissue.”
Trump’s out clinical psychologist niece, Mary Trump, said in the past that her uncle would not be honest with the American public if he actually were suffering from severe health problems because “In my family, showing any kind of weakness, even if it’s succumbing to a virus, is considered fatal.”
“You don’t ever want to admit any kind of weakness at all.”
The White House has been reluctant to release medical reports from his trips to the hospital over the past two years, causing many to speculate that his health is worse than he is letting on.
