Donald Trump had a lot to say about Sen. Jon Husted’s (R-OH) body at a campaign stop in Youngstown, Ohio.
“I’m standing over here, and I don’t do this with men very often,” Trump said before describing what he was thinking as Husted spoke, with Trump standing behind him. “I started examining his body because I didn’t know he was a great athlete, and I looked, and I watched up and down.”

Trump then moved on to Husted’s classically beautiful face.
“Look at that jawline, I’m telling you!” Trump continued. “I never saw that. I never studied him, and now I study him. I say, why was he such a good football player? The jawline, he’s tough as hell.”
Husted, Ohio’s former lieutenant governor, was appointed to the Senate in January 2025 to replace JD Vance when he became vice president. This November, he will face former Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) in a special election to decide who will finish the rest of Vance’s term.
According to a recent CNN poll, Brown leads the race, with 49% of respondents supporting him to 43% who said they’d vote for Husted.
Despite what Trump said at the rally, Husted was not a professional athlete, and his football career ended after he graduated from the University of Dayton in the 1980s. He got involved in politics after graduation and worked in various local positions until he was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 2000.
Later in his speech, Trump said that Brown “wants to have men playing in women’s sports,” which isn’t true since no elected official in the US supports allowing men to participate in women’s sports.
