Jennie Garth appeared on Season 5 of Dancing With the Stars alongside Derek Hough. Years later, she is sharing how the show left her with PTSD. Moreover, she underwent a drastic procedure to stay on DWTS, but what did she do? Keep reading for more on what Jennie spilled.

Jennie Garth Wanted To Go Home

After years on Beverly Hills, 90210 and some subsequent hits, Jennie Garth was ready for a new challenge. She had three children and was ready for something different, so it was great when DWTS called. Jennie was paired with pro dancer Derek Hough for Season 5, and she was ready for whatever came her way. At the same time, every time they would call her name to dance, Jennie would be filled with so much anxiety.

She saw a level of strength in herself, but was thrilled to go home:

“I think that that show… really showed me how strong I was. I was honestly, no disrespect, but I was so happy when I got kicked off because I did not like that kind of stress and the spotlight.”

Along with that, Jennie Garth had to undergo hypnosis in order to avoid peeing when she danced. She would hear her name being called, and it would immediately trigger a response in her that was not good:

“I had to go get hypnotized to, like, not pee my pants when they said, ‘And dancing the waltz! Jennie Garth and her partner, Derek Hough!’ Gives me PTSD bumps right now just thinking about it.”

Finally, she had to admit that she hates having people watching her. Although she is a performer, this is something she has seemingly never gotten used to. Ultimately, Jennie and Derek came in fourth place on DWTS, but it does not seem like she would ever return.

The former 90210 star did share that she was invited to be on the hit dancing show’s inaugural season. However, she turned it down, not thinking it would go on as long as it has.

A Slew Of Co-Stars

DWTS has welcomed a handful of Jennie Garth’s Beverly Hills, 90210 co-stars. Tori Spelling danced her way into America’s hearts but was quick to be voted off. Ian Ziering also competed and did very well, coming in fourth place, while Brian Austin Green also appeared alongside his real-life partner, Sharna Burgess. Finally, the late Shannen Doherty was on Dancing With the Stars, so it has welcomed many from the Aaron Spelling series. It will enter Season 35 in the fall, with the full list of competitors being announced on September 2nd. For now, Maura Higgins, Ciara Miller, and Jackson Olson are confirmed.
