The Black Queen’s Return Officially Announced

Movies

Game of Thrones fans have a lot to discuss now that Season 3 of House of the Dragon has finished airing. The series has introduced several controversial changes to George R.R. Martin’s source material, but this season felt like it kicked those diversions into overdrive. Despite pushback from A Song of Ice and Fire and Fire & Blood purists, this season had some of the most-watched episodes on television this year.

Whether you loved it or hated it or thought it was just alright, there’s no doubt you’ll be tuning in during Season 4 to see how they wrap everything up. Unfortunately, that’s still quite a ways off at this point, with the final season not expected to air until at least 2028, barring some sort of miracle.

That said, if you want to get your fix on some more House of the Dragon content and missed out on events such as The Black Queen’s Return, there’s one last opportunity to do so until October 1 (via GoTD).

The Black Queen’s Return was one of several unique events in Game of Thrones: Dragonfire that ran alongside House of the Dragon during Season 3, all of which were counted among the game’s “Watch-Along” events that ran for a limited time in-game. In a recent reveal, Dragonfire announced the full Season 3 slate of events that aired with each of the eight episodes and made each Watch-Along reward available to claim until October 1, 2026.

The Black Queen’s Return was a limited-time event that was made available after Episode 3 aired back in July, coinciding with Rhaenyra’s return to King’s Landing and giving players the chance to conquer tiles in her name and help restore the Black Queen’s rule. The reward you can get in-game now for that respective episode is 1,000 Dragon Food, which you can claim by connecting your HBO account with the Dragonfire app and watching the episode itself.

Below you can find a full break-down of all the Watch-Along rewards available until October and their corresponding episodes, as well as the Dragonfire Seasonal Events that were associated with them when they initially aired:
