The Venice Film Festival hosted the world premiere of Primetime, directed by Lance Oppenheim, starring Robert Pattinson, Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, and Phoebe Bridgers.
Attending the premiere were members of the film’s cast and crew, including Alex Winter, Ari Aster, Bokeem Woodbine, and Suki Waterhouse.
Inspired by the real-life phenomenon of Dateline’s To Catch a Predator, Lance Oppenheim’s narrative feature debut Primetime follows television host Chris Hansen (Robert Pattinson) at the absolute height of the show’s success in 2006. The thriller captures an institutional portrait of the viral apparatus, tracing how the converging ambitions of a moralistic crusader, a mercenary producer, and an aspiring actor collateralize human fallout for high ratings before the early 2000s media landscape forever fractured.
