Moondancer Rising Is Officially Coming To Dragonfire

Game of Thrones dragon lore is among the richest and most elaborate in fantasy, with House of the Dragon bringing the legendary beasts of Fire & Blood to life in greater detail than ever before. From Daenerys’ Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion in the original HBO series to House of the Dragon Season 3’s revival of Sunfyre, the franchise’s live-action dragons have consistently delivered some of its most unforgettable moments.

Dragons across the Game of Thrones universe all have very distinctive features and are treated as characters in their own right, especially in the original novels. Each has its own coloring, temperament, size, fighting style, and special connection with its rider, which is one element that makes Martin’s world so unique in terms of fantasy.

Fire & Blood in particular chronicles generations of Targaryen dragons with unique reputations and histories that often become inseparable from those of their riders. And perhaps one of the most underrated and important dragon–rider connections in the entirety of the franchise is none other than Baela’s Moondancer, a young but fiercely determined dragon whose role in the Dance of the Dragons culminates in one of the conflict’s most dramatic and consequential confrontations (via GoTD).

House of the Dragon Season 3 was packed with controversial moments and devastating scenes, but was also host to some of the greatest performances in Game of Thrones history. While Tom Glynn-Carney’s portrayal of Aegon II has been getting a ton of attention (and rightfully so), Bethany Antonia’s depiction of Baela is easily one of the most underrated in the series. But thanks to a new update for Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, Baela and her iconic Moondancer are back for a limited time in Moondancer’s Rising.

Dragonfire recently unveiled the entire seasonal event lineup for players during this season of House of the Dragon that aired over the past few months, with Baela getting her own unique limited-time event after Episode 6 premiered, accompanied with the following brief descriptor:

Moondancer rose as Baela proved she was no mere follower.

While the events themselves are no longer available in game, players can claim the unique “watch-along” rewards associated with each episode by connecting their HBO and Dragonfire accounts and watching the specific episode. After watching every episode and claiming all the rewards, you’ll unlock the unique Caraxes Legendary dragon as well.
