Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak’s son, Kroy ‘KJ’ Biermann Jr., was just arrested for alleged sexual battery. Moreover, he is only fifteen years old, yet he is being charged as an adult. Now, Kim has released a statement in which she is blaming the victim, but followers of the story are not having it. Kim Zolciak Is Victim-Blaming
On August 17th, Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s oldest son, Kroy ‘KJ’ Biermann Jr., was arrested. He is just fifteen and is being charged with alleged sexual battery against a female classmate. This supposedly occurred back in April at a local gym, where he allegedly forced sexual acts upon her. An investigation into what happened began the following month, and yes, she did go to the hospital. KJ was ultimately arrested on August 17th and will be charged as an adult, which is likely why his name has been made public.
Now, Kim has spoken out about the incident, and she seems to be blaming the victim for what went down. The former reality star had this to say:
“The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling. He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged. My son voluntarily took a polygraph examination regarding these allegations and passed. Additionally, an examination was conducted, and no DNA belonging to my son was found. We are also aware that this individual has made similar allegations involving two other people, which raises serious concerns that deserve to be carefully examined.”
Now, the first issue followers had was that Kim referred to the girl as a “woman,” given that she is only 15. That immediately turned people off more than they already had been to Kim Zolciak:

Kim has repeatedly been called out for her excessive spending and gambling addiction. She once drove her daughter, Brielle Biermann, out of state to gamble. Kim then made Brielle sit in the car until 3 am while she gambled her heart out and then proceeded to take money from her kids. So, many do not want to hear anything Kim has to say.
Moreover, Kim and her estranged husband spent years in a severely combative relationship. The police were constantly being called, and that was what their minor children saw and believed was okay.

After Kim Zolciak released her statement, many followers of the story had a lot to say. They could not believe how she responded. Yes, she is a protective mother and wants to keep her son safe. However, many felt there were better ways to go about it than blaming the victim as she did:

Many also pointed out that they felt enough time had passed and that there was an ongoing investigation. Therefore, the hope was that there was enough backing for the arrest to be made. Regardless, this is a very sad situation, and it should never have happened.
