A right-wing pundit tried to defend White House aide Natalie Harp’s bizarre letters to Donald Trump, in which she asked him to “punish” her and “cuss her out” when she “deserve[s]” it, by arguing that Harp is actually “the poster child for modern-day feminists.”
Amy Robbins is the CEO of Alexo Athletics, an athletic wear company that makes leggings that wearers can use to carry firearms. She appeared on CNN to discuss recently uncovered letters Harp sent to Trump in which she compared him to her father and said she wished her job were “to talk with you, and look pretty.”

“You are all that matters to me,” Harp wrote. “I don’t want to ever let you down.”
“Natalie Harp should be the poster child for modern-day feminists,” Robbins said on CNN. “She’s a hard worker, she’s resourceful…”

“She quite literally devotes all of her time and energy to one single man,” liberal commentator Adam Mockler rejoined.
Robbins then said that Harp got to “one of the highest positions in the country” by not eating or sleeping, which is different from what other Republicans have been saying about Harp, which is that she is not powerful and is not a public figure and therefore should not be subjected to public scrutiny despite how much time she spends with the US president.
“This is not a double standard; this is not a case of a close inner circle,” Mockler responded. “This is definitely not a case of feminism. It’s kinda sad. It made me sad reading her letters.”
He added that, in his view, feminism doesn’t involve “saying you’re sorry a hundred times or acting like you have Stockholm Syndrome.”
