Today Show host Craig Melvin has allegedly been upset with the way his job has been going. He has been missing out on interviews he feels he deserves and more. Yet, he recently called out a fellow anchor for “cheating” and did not hold back. Keep reading for more details on what he had to say.
Craig Melvin Spots A Cheater
For the last eight years, Craig Melvin has been a staple of the Today Show. He is close with his fellow anchors, and they have all become a family. When Sheinelle Jones’ husband was sick, they rallied. When Hoda Kotb made her grand exit, they all mourned the loss. Finally, when Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy, was abducted, the whole Today family was right by each other’s side no matter what. Sometimes, it feels like Craig is not getting the praise that he deserves, or so it has been alleged.
Now, he is taking his job to another level as he called out a fellow anchor for encouraging “cheating.” Ryan Chandler was chatting from a Dallas airport and giving tips on how to make it through faster without missing the flight. He advised passengers to go through the family lane, even if they were solo. This was done by using Touch ListID, which can be hooked up to a cellphone:
“You can use the family security lanes, not just for your family but the solo travellers as well, it makes it more efficient for everybody. Get the earliest flight of the day, it makes it that much more likely you’ll get to where you’re going and avoid the risk of afternoon thunderstorms. Your airplane is already waiting for you at the gate to help you get where you’re going safely on time.”
Along with families, Ryan Chandler also seemed to hint that single travelers should use the same lane. However, Craig Melvin found a hole in the plan and let Ryan know that this sounded a lot like cheating. The Today Show host made it clear that the family lane was just for them and not single passengers. After back and forth, Laura Jarrett concluded:
“Craig just doesn’t want anyone cheating out there, bending the rules.”
He can safely go through the family lane as he is married with two children. However, he wanted to make it clear that people should obey the rules.

Today Show viewers loved Craig Melvin for standing up to Ryan Chandler. They loved the fact that he had no problem calling out his co-anchor, no matter what Ryan had to say: He is a real anchor, and that adds to his appeal:
