Ryan Seacrest has a lot of different shows under his belt. For a few years, he hosted Live! alongside Kelly Ripa. Recently, he gave fans a surprise cameo on the show, years after his exit, just in time for a special day.
Ryan Seacrest Left Live With Kelly & Ryan Back In 2023, With Mark Consuelos Succeeding Him
Over the years, Seacrest has been part of a number of television shows. Some still know him best as the presenter of American Idol, having been part of the show since the start. Back in 2024, he also took over hosting duties on Wheel of Fortune.
However, from 2017 to 2023, Seacrest also worked alongside Kelly Ripa on Live with Kelly and Ryan. Since then, however, Ripa has hosted the show alongside her husband, Mark Consuelos.
It has been over three years since Seacrest left the morning show. However, just a day ahead of Halloween, he gave Live! viewers an early surprise.
Seacrest appeared in a pre-taped segment during the show’s annual Halloween show. He delivered a special announcement for Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, who were dressed as Spider-Man and Yelena Belova.

Seacrest shared, “Good morning, everybody. It’s me, Ryan Seacrest. Look familiar? Don’t adjust your dials. This morning, Live is turning Times Square into Times Scare for the very first Halloween Shockin’ Eve… And we’re standing by for the best Halloween hosts in the business, who should be swinging by any time.”
During the segment, Kelly and Mark swung through Manhattan as their superhero alter-egos. Seeing Seacrest below, they called out to him. Seacrest then shared, “Hey guys! Have a great show! And tell Gelman I miss his nuts,” in reference to executive producer Michael Gelman.
During their time on Live! together, Seacrest was also known for dressing up alongside Kelly Ripa during the Halloween shows. Over the years, he dressed like Pugsley Addams, Joe Exotic, Ted Lasso, and even a Ken doll, alongside Ripa’s Barbie impression. Back in 2017, Ripa ended up dressing like Seacrest himself, even taking a photo at his On Air with Ryan Seacrest studio.
Seacrest was also known to have enjoyed dressing up with Kipa for the holidays, and not just Halloween. During a past cameo on the show a few years back, he told Ripa that he missed their tradition of wearing matching Christmas onesies.
