Father John Misty has a new song, “The Payoff,” out on Sub Pop. He co-produced the track with Drew Erickson, who has worked on Father John Misty’s past two albums and is also a frequent collaborator of Lana Del Rey and Angel Olsen. Give the song a listen below.

“The Payoff” is Josh Tillman’s second new Father John Misty song of 2026, following the January one-off “The Old Law.” Tillman shared his most recent album, Mahashmashana, in 2024; he’s currently still on tour in support of the record, with shows across Europe, the UK, and North America booked this summer. In 2025, he also released a collection of demos from the sessions that became his 2015 breakout record, I Love You, Honeybear.
