Ebooks Are Coming to Libro.fm—With Exciting New Features
Books

Libro.fm just announced that it will soon offer ebooks alongside its audiobook selection, as well as a few new exciting features.

Once the ebooks become available through the Libro.fm app, users will have access to:

  • LibroSync—a special feature that allows owners of both the audiobook and ebook to switch seamlessly between the two, and even follow along with the ebook as they listen to the audiobook.
  • Flexible credits, which will be applicable to audiobooks and ebooks alike.
  • Member benefits that will include exclusive ebook offers.
  • Ebook Advance Reading Copies in addition to advance audiobook copies for those who are a part of the bookseller/influencer program.

The employee-owned, Social Purpose Corporation launched in 2014 with the goal of helping people to read more and independent bookstores to sell more audiobooks. Today, the certified B Corporation™ company is partnered with more than 4,000 bookstores around the world, with members in 95 countries.

With the offering of ebooks, the company hopes to facilitate people supporting their local indie bookstores even more.

Libro.fm’s Senior Manager of Bookseller Partnerships, Lee Hooyboer, mentioned how readers want to support indie booksellers over massive corporations, saying, “Especially over the past few years, we’ve seen how readers want to divest from Amazon. They want to support their indie because they recognize how important these third places are for their community. And now they can support them all the more with ebooks on Libro. These dollars will make a huge difference.”
