A new member of Donald Trump’s administration previously said that America is in the clutches of a “homo-empire” that pushes a “tyrannical LGBT+agenda”.

Merritt Corrigan was recently appointed by Trump as deputy White House liaison at the US Agency for International Development (USAID), America’s foreign aid agency.

The new Trump appointee has a long history of online posts denouncing liberal democracy, feminism, abortion and the LGBT+ community.

Corrigan previously worked for the Hungarian Embassy in the United States, before leaving the job in April, 2020.

She previously described Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who is staunchly anti-LGBT+ and recently passed a law that legally erases trans people, as “the shining champion of Western civilization”.

In one social media post, Corrigan wrote: “Liberal democracy is little more than a front for the war being waged against us by those who fundamentally despise not only our way of life, but life itself.”

In an opinion piece for The Conservative Woman in 2019, Corrigan took aim at women who work, insisting: “Feminism has reduced women to cheap imitations of men, a role we will only ever fill poorly.

“It has made a mockery of our real feminine abilities and defiled our bodies, once the sacred possession of husbands who could protect and serve us… It’s time for women to return to the home, where we rightfully belong and where real joy and fulfilment await.”

In the same piece, she said: “Family planning is little more than a euphemism for killing one’s unborn child.”

According to Politico, the new Trump appointee also wrote on Twitter: “Our homo-empire couldn’t tolerate even one commercial enterprise not in full submission to the tyrannical LGBT agenda.”

Acting USAID spokesperson Pooja Jhunjhunwala Rolling Stone that the agency has a “zero-tolerance policy of any form of discrimination or harassment based on gender, race, sexual orientation, religion or any other possible distinguishing characteristic that can define any of us.”

She added: “All employees are held to the highest of standards and are expected to treat one another with dignity and respect. Period. This includes political appointees, civil servants, foreign service officers and contractors.”

At the time of writing, all of Corrigan’s social media accounts have been locked down.
