Supermassive Games are taking The Dark Pictures Anthology to VR with the exclusive PSVR2 title Dark Pictures: Switchback VR. Coming Spring 2023, Switchback VR will take players for a “multi-sensory ride through ghost-ships, witch-hunts, vampire nests and the lair of a sadistic killer on a fast paced, sinister rollercoaster from Hell”.

As you might have guessed, Switchback VR revisits the locations from the first season of The Dark Pictures Anthology, where you’ll meet up with each entry’s antagonist, requiring you to make quick decisions in order to survive. Along the way, you’ll discover how your story connects with each of these worlds, and make sense of the nightmare.

“We are hugely excited to bring the most gruesome of The Dark Pictures horrors to VR” said Pete Samuels, CEO of Supermassive Games. “The Anthology enables us to explore many different horror subgenres with variety in monsters and locations, and it’s exciting for the team to reimagine so much of this in a single, unified, narrative. We remember Rush of Blood, an original launch title for PSVR in 2016, very fondly. We cannot wait for people to experience this new action-packed horror rollercoaster on the incredible PS VR2.”

In fact, you can pre-order The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR right now for $39.99 USD.

Meanwhile, the season finale of The Dark Pictures Anthology in The Devil in Me arrives November 18 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. And while you wait, check out our latest preview for The Devil in Me.
