Illfonic Celebrates ‘Predator: Hunting Grounds’ One-Year Anniversary With New DLC and Steam Release

Horror

It’s been a year since Predator: Hunting Grounds debuted on the PlayStation 4 and the Epic Games Store, and that’s not lost on Illfonic. They’ve marked the occasion by not only releasing a new map, but also announcing the title’s debut on Steam!

Posted on PlayStation Blog, Iffonic CEO Charles Brungardt announced that the game is available now on PC, with a new DLC Predator Package to boot. The DLC contains all four Predator DLC skins and abilities: Viking, Samurai, Valkyrie, and City Hunter; plus early access to three additional masks and six war paints. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to unlock those masks and war paints via gameplay by December 2021. Oh, and the DLC is also available on the PS4.

On top of that, Hunting Grounds supports crossplay between PS4 and PC, though all progress in-game is stored on a per-platform basis and is non-transferable.

The other big news is the new Airstrip Map, which sees you having to plan your strategies accordingly, as there are sniper spots and wide-open areas for Predator and Fireteam alike. According to Brungardt, the map “will offer 12 different missions that will have you dodging bullets as you weave through homes, radio towers, multiple Stargazer encampments, airplane hangars, and an airstrip littered with planes and choppers, all scattered throughout the thick jungle.”

As for new abilities, playing as the Predator now gives you specializations, much like with the Fireteam. You can check out the new specialization in the patch notes.

Finally, Illfonic have given an update on the DLC roadmap, with the next DLC coming in June. Will we be seeing other members of Dutch’s team in the original film as playable characters? We’ll have to wait to find out.
