Grimes Told Elon Musk to Turn Off His Phone After Tweeting That “Pronouns Suck”

Pop Culture

Surprisingly, the parents of baby X Æ A-Xii, Elon Musk and Grimes, have very different opinions on the importance of pronouns.

The couple had a minor spat on Twitter on Friday night after the tech CEO followed up his proclamation that red rose emoji Twitter sucks, referring to the symbol widely used by Democratic Socialists on the platform, by announcing that “pronouns suck,” too.

However, Musk’s girlfriend was less than impressed by the Tesla founder’s bold social media statements. Grimes promptly replied to his tweet regarding pronouns, writing, “I love you but please turn off ur phone or give me a dall [sic]. I cannot support hate. Please stop this. I know this isn’t your heart.” Although the pop star quickly deleted the tweet after posting it, Musk unfollowed her on Twitter the following day. But apparently the pair were able to work things out as he re-followed her just seven hours later.

Clearly, it was a busy weekend for Musk who on top of feuding with leftist Twitter, arguing with his girlfriend, and discovering Nirvana’s album Nevermind for the first time, also did an interview with the New York Times. In the piece, Musk cleared up some of the claims made against him by Johnny Depp during his UK libel trial. Depp’s lawyers have alleged that the tech mogul had an affair with the actor’s ex-wife, Amber Heard, during their marriage, in addition to having a threesome with her and Cara Delevingne. Musk told the paper, “I definitely was not having an affair with Amber [Heard] while she was married to Johnny, this is totally false.” When asked about Depp’s text messages that allegedly threatened to “slice” off his “dick,” he responded, “If Johnny wants a cage fight, just let me know.”

As for his relationship with Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, he confessed, “She’s one of the most unusual people I’ve ever met. We’ve had this debate of ‘Are you more crazy than me or am I more crazy than you?”
