Princess Kate Had a Great Response When Asked Her Age at a Children’s Museum

Princess Kate might be a spokesperson for early childhood in the UK, but even she knows that she’s outside the target age range for a children’s museum. On her Wednesday trip to the newly reopened and renamed Young V&A, Kate had a humorous response when one child asked how old she was.

“I’m 41,” she replied, according to the Daily Mail, before dropping into a whisper. “Shhh… Don’t tell anyone!”

Kate, who has been the patron of the Victoria & Albert Museum since 2018, visited on Wednesday to see the space after a 13 million British pound, three-year renovation aimed at making the museum’s children’s wing more vibrant and inspirational. While she was there, she was led through the museum by students from nearby Globe Primary School in Bethnal Green who took part in a project to help design the new space. She heard the students tell stories in the new Imagine Gallery, and commented that her children “tell her stories all the time.”

Meanwhile, Prince William is continuing to pack more events into an already busy week, which began when he kicked off Homewards, a new five-year campaign to end homelessness in the UK, with a two-day tour to various organizations across the UK working in partnership with the new organization. On Monday, after giving a speech in Lambeth and speaking with former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, William traveled to Bournemouth and Newport. On Tuesday, he began his day in Belfast, before traveling to Aberdeen and finishing up in Sheffield.

On Thursday, he received his own enthusiastic welcome from schoolchildren when he made a surprise visit to the Royal Norfolk Show. A video of his arrival shows that William arrived to cheers of his name when he visited the agricultural fair in Norwich. Later, he met with members of community groups, including his former employer, East Anglia Air Ambulance. The prince served as an air ambulance pilot for the group from 2015 to 2017.
