Pete Davidson and Machine Gun Kelly Took Over Calvin Klein’s Instagram Again

Pop Culture

The boys are back on Calvin Klein’s Instagram. After doing an Instagram Live for the brand in which they called their briefs “undies” and talked horniness in deadpan tones, Machine Gun Kelly and Pete Davidson are at it again.

This time, in a 10-minute live, they got their nails done and hinted briefly about preparing for a photo shoot in a bathtub together. The bulk of the conversation was about parties they’ve gone to together, parties from their early friendship that came about mostly because MGK invited Davidson and Davidson showed up, not realizing the party wasn’t a hang in some basement with the boys, but an 800-person rager and his Old English 40s were neither needed nor welcome. I’m paraphrasing this bit, but have we not all been there?

So this is what sexiness is now, per the arbiter of a celebrity-driven kind of sexiness, Calvin Klein. The brand that has previously tapped Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner, and the equivalent to post in their Calvins is going for the hotness du jour: self-deprecating, self-described “losers” who also happen to have it all—women (Megan Fox on the one hand, and Kim Kardashian on the other), cars, money, impressive careers, clout. Sometimes sexiness is brash and defiantly confident like Marky Mark or Bieber, and sometimes sexiness is the act of trying to be relatable, as with two bleached-haired men who say everything they do they do because they didn’t have any friends in high school (MGK, for his part, wishes he knew Davidson in high school so they could be “losers” together). There is room for both kinds of sexiness in the Calvins.
