Tana Mongeau has come out as pansexual in an emotional Instagram post uploaded to celebrate LGBT+ Pride Month.

The influencer and model, who dated pan actor Bella Thorne from 2017 to 2019, herself came out as pan in a lengthy post uploaded June 15.

In it, Mongeau, 21, told her 5.4 million followers that sharing her sexuality on social media has always been a struggle for her, but, alongside various photographs of herself, a photo with her and Noah Cyrus, a news clipping, an albino mouse with the rainbow dyed on its fur and an image of SpongeBob Squarepants hued with the rainbow, she decided it was now or never.

Tana Mongeau: ‘I will live my life based on loving people not for their gender but their soul.’

“I never thought I’d be brave enough to publicly share my sexuality in the way I do now,” she wrote.

Mongeau reflected on her scuffles with prejudice pelted at her for being attracted to more than one gender, saying: “I  still struggle with it – I hate the boxes, I hate people telling me I’m straight or discrediting my relationship if I’m with a girl.

“But I’m proud to be not only a member but an ally of the LGBT+ community and I’m proud to say I will live my life based on loving people not for their gender but their soul.

She reflected on how sexuality is chiselled down into categories and, while her sexuality aligns more with the label pansexual, she herself is indifferent to labels as a whole.

“Some people call that pansexuality, everyone calls me bi, I personally don’t find a need to label it all,” she said, “love and sexuality is genderless to me and I’m so lucky to have this platform to speak openly about that.

“Also, f**k our president for his absolute inhumane ideals toward the LGBT+ community and you better be voting his ass out with me.

“It hurts my heart to even be posting about pride knowing that the rights of trans people were just so sickeningly ripped from them.

“I will use the way that angers me to fight for change.

“I LOVE ALL OF YOU LGBT+ BABIES, EXACTLY WHO YOU FEEL LIKE INSIDE IS EXACTLY WHO YOU ARE MEANT TO BE.”

Although Mongeau has only now opened up about her sexuality, she has been rather public with her past relationships. After dating Thorne, she began seeing fellow YouTuber, Jake Paul.

Now her Instagram comment section is stuffed with speculations, as fans and followers think she is dating Cyrus, tipping off by her being included in Monegau coming out post.

“Tana, what is that photo?” Cyrus commented, before adding: “I love you.”
