The Don’t Worry Darling premiere was a hot mess – from Harry Styles kissing Nick Kroll to Chris Pine doing… whatever Chris Pine was doing

Don’t Worry Darling, directed by Olivia Wilde and starring Harry Styles, Florence Pugh and Chris Pine, has been in the headlines for weeks for alleged behind the scenes drama.

The film received its premiere at the Venice Film Festival on Monday (5 September), and it was chaotic to the end.

In a moment of pure ecstasy as the film received a four minute standing ovation, Styles grabbed his co-star Nick Kroll and laid one on him.

In the video captured by Variety co-editor in chief, Ramin Setoodeh, the two then laugh and embrace while the crowd goes wild with cheers and whoops.

Many picked up on the chemistry between Kroll and Styles on the red carpet beforehand, where they lovingly gazed at each other. Others speculated on whether Styles and Wilde – who are reported to be an item – had split amid the chaos.

That’s not all.

During an interview with Harry Styles and Chris Pine, fans noticed Pine had totally zoned out while Styles made some… interesting cultural analysis.

“My favourite thing about the movie,” Styles began, “is like it feels like a movie. It feels like a real ‘go to the theatre’ movie, the reason why you go to watch something on the big screen.”

The whole time Pine appeared to be checked out, looking like he would rather be anywhere else but in that room.

The premiere also sent fans into a frenzy asking whether Harry Styles spat on Chris Pine following a bizarre clip captured as the two took their seats at the premiere.

And earlier on, Pine sparked a wave of memes on the Don’t Worry Darling red carpet as he began photographing Pugh and being her ultimate hype man.

Let’s just say it was giving big Cara Delevingne hyping up Megan Thee Stallion energy.

Some gueseds that Pine has been caught up int he alleged backstage drama, with one fan writing: Imagine being Chris Pine, a PROFESSIONAL actor. Flip phone is charged. Feminist theory books on deck for your down time between junkets. You show up to your cast HATING each other and you get stuck on a junket with a man who has seemingly just figured out what acting is? Wow.”

While another added: “Chris Pine disassociating at a press conference, Florence Pugh showing up 15 mins late with an aperol spritz, Tom Cruise clinging to a plane and saying ‘see you at the movies!’, Brendan Fraser getting a six minute ovation…maybe cinema really is back.”

PinkNews contacted representatives for Harry Styles and Chris Pine for comment.
