Lil Nas X has announced the release of a new song called “Holiday”—out this Friday (November 13)—in an absurd and spectacular way. During tonight’s game between the New Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a commercial aired that features the “Old Town Road” rapper becoming Santa Claus via the Tim Allen Santa Clause contract. He then appears to travel through time on Santa’s sleigh, prompting Michael J. Fox to say, “Whatever you do Nas, don’t go to 2020.” Watch it below.
“Old Town Road” and “Panini” were included on Nas’ breakout 7 EP. He was one of the musicians invited to perform on the new Sesame Street spin-off series The Not-Too-Late Show With Elmo earlier this year. His “Old Town Road” remix with Billy Ray Cyrus won the Grammy this year for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
