Tame Impala Share New Song “Wings of Time”: Listen

Kevin Parker made the track for the new movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Tame Impala have shared a new song written for the upcoming movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. The track is called “Wings of Time,” and you can listen to it below.

“Being asked to do a track for the D&D soundtrack seemed like an unmissable opportunity to indulge in my long time love of fantasy prog rock,” Tame Impala mastermind Kevin Parker said in a press release. He continued:

I recruited my good friend Nicholas Allbrook, who is the person I know appreciates this subject matter the most. We rented a villa in Spain, that kind of felt like a castle, for two nights whilst on tour for Primavera. That location got us in the right frame of mind and it went from there. We stayed up late coming up with weird ideas and song lyrics.

The song comes less than 24 hours after Parker revealed that he fractured his hip while running a half marathon. Parker promised that all forthcoming Tame Impala shows will continue as planned. “I’m not quitting on you guys,” he wrote.

Parker has contributed to two other film soundtracks lately; he joined Diana Ross for their Minions: Rise of the Gru song “Turn Up the Sunshine,” and he remixed Elvis Presley’s “Edge of Reality” for Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic.

Also last year, Tame Impala shared a single called “The Boat I Row,” which was a previously unreleased track from their collection of The Slow Rush B-sides and remixes. The Slow Rush arrived in 2020.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves hits theaters March 31, and stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, and Daisy Head. The movie centers on a charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers on a dangerous quest to retrieve a lost relic.
