Public Enemy Enlist YG, Nas, More for “Fight the Power” Remix at BET Awards 2020: Watch

Last night’s BET Awards opened with an update on Public Enemy’s 1989 protest classic “Fight the Power.” From various locations, guest vocalists including YG, Nas, Jahi, Black Thought, and Rapsody offer commentary on Black lives in 2020. Public Enemy originals DJ Lord, the S1Ws, and Professor Griff also joined Chuck D and Flavor Flav, with Questlove making an appearance on the decks. Check it out below.

Other performers on last night’s show included Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, Chloe X Halle, DaBaby, and many more. Beyoncé was honored in recognition of her philanthropy, and Wayne Brady paid tribute to the late Little Richard.

This month, Public Enemy released a new song called “State of the Union (STFU).”
