Ms. Lauryn Hill brought out Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel for a six-song set. Michel is awaiting sentencing after being convicted on conspiracy charges.
Ms. Lauryn Hill’s headlining set at this year’s Roots Picnic in Philadelphia on Saturday night turned into a surprise Fugees reunion. She brought out Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel for a six-song set that included performances of “How Many Mics,” “Ready or Not,” “Killing Me Softly,” and “Fu-Gee-La.” Watch footage here and here.
Earlier this year, Michel was found guilty by a federal jury on charges including conspiracy, witness tampering, and failing to register as an agent of China. He has yet to be sentenced and faces up to 20 years in prison. Fugees had planned a reunion tour that was initially postponed and then fully canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They played just one reunion show in 2021.
