The new single from deadmau5 has been released today, and it’s a collaboration with the Neptunes. According to a press release, deadmau5 worked with Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo during a secret recording session at the most recent Art Basel in Miami. Listen to the new song “Pomegranate” below. The track is set to appear on deadmau5’s forthcoming album, which hasn’t been officially announced.
The Neptunes are in the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s Class of 2020 (although the ceremony has been moved to next year). While Pharrell and Chad Hugo haven’t been quite as prolific together as they have been apart in the past few years, they worked together on N.E.R.D.’s 2017 album No_One Ever Really Dies and co-produced the majority of Justin Timberlake’s 2018 album Man of the Woods. Pharrell’s most recent solo single, 2019’s “Letter to My Godfather,” was also produced by the Neptunes.
