Lyndsay Duthie, who has run the Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) for the past five years, is exiting.

Duthie will take up a new role at the end of January 2025 as Pro Vice-Chancellor Academic Partnerships and Industry Engagement at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA).

Duthie is a popular figure in industry circles. During her time at the PGGB, she has overseen major shifts in the production landscape including the Covid-19 pandemic, strikes, boom period and streamer contraction, while launching initiatives such as six Nations & Regions Committees and the organization’s first Diversity and Inclusion Action Group and Sustainability Committee. She also secured the PGGB’s first Royal Patron, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, and created an award bearing his name: The Duke of Edinburgh Film and TV Inclusion Award, which is presented annually at PGGB’s Talent Showcase. Recruitment for her replacement will open this week.

Duthie said: “It has been a huge honour to lead such a prestigious organisation with some of the world’s best production professionals in the film and television industry. It is never an easy decision to leave something you are so passionate about, but I know that PGGB is in solid position to build on for the future, and I wish all the continued success to you all.”

PGGB Chair Bianca Gavin paid tribute to “exceptional leadership” that has helped navigate the org through “challenging periods.” “We have a bright and secure future, able to look forward to fresh chapters ahead,” she added. “On behalf of the board, members, partners and staff I extend heartfelt thanks to Lyndsay for her energy and dedication, wishing her every success in her exciting new role.”

The PGGB represents the interests of producers in the UK industry, a circa-£6 billion ($7.6 billion) sector that attracts productions from all over the world.
