Netflix is in early development on the comedy feature Little Brother starring John Cena (The Suicide Squad, Barbie) and Eric Andre (Trolls Band Together, The Eric Andre Show) from screenwriters Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel.

The film follows a famous real estate agent whose carefully curated world is upended when his eccentric “little brother” unexpectedly reappears.

Cena and Andre will reunite on the project after collaborating on The Eric Andre Show in the Season 5 episode “The ASAP Ferg Show.” In the now-infamous 2020 episode, Andre suffered a real-life concussion after an on-camera accident involving Cena and a metal shelf.

David Bernad and Ruben Fleischer are producing.

While Cena’s acting career thrives, 2025 will be an emotional year for wrestling fans as they prepare to say goodbye to the record-breaking 16-time WWE champion (tied with Ric Flair). He announced his retirement plans in July with his final appearance at WrestleMania set for April during the live event’s 41st celebration in Las Vegas. Cena previously teased his Farewell Tour could run from January to December.

The new year will also herald the premiere of an all-new era for Monday Night Raw, the centerpiece of the WWE’s massive $10 billion deal with Netflix. Little Brother‘s development news was revealed on Tuesday afternoon as executives from both companies met with members of the media to discuss plans for the January 6 main event and beyond.

“We are really looking forward to doing documentaries and taking some of [WWE’s] great history and characters and doing that on the unscripted and scripted side,” shared Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer at the Los Angeles event. “Again, we have so many great stars that come from WWE that we’ve had a great relationship with on the TV and movie side. We are about to do a new movie with our very own John Cena. It’s a really great comedy called Little Brother [starring Cena] and Eric Andre together, and we’re super excited about that,” she continued.

WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque added, “When we first met with you and your team Bela, you were open to the ideas and thoughts and concepts that are so outside the box. What WWE brings to the table is this platform that is willing to go in any direction, which is an amazing opportunity for us to say, where do we want to go with this person? This is not just with the stars of WWE but also with the celebrities that come to watch what we do.”

Cena is repped by WME, Intenta Management, and Johnson, Shapiro, Slewett & Kole. Andre is repped at UTA.
