Flash mob proposals have been done to death over the past decade – but this one will warm your cold, gay heart.

Actor Yuval David shared the incredible surprise proposal he received from his boyfriend Mark McDermott.

The couple were out having brunch in Manhattan with Yuval’s family when a group of dancers began performing to their song, Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s “In This Life”.

Blissfully unaware of what his boyfriend had planned, Yuval stood smiling as he watched the performance, briefly sharing an adorable dance of his own with Mark.

Even as the song faded into Bruno Mars’ “Marry You”, Yuval remained oblivious – until Mark was dragged into the flash mob.

As the lawyer joined in with the routine, Yuval broke down into tears, and was pulled into the melee by two dancers.

Mark got down on one knee, proclaiming for all the world to hear: “I love you, my Yuval, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”

He proposed with a ring engraved with “I am my Beloved’s and my Beloved is mine”, an ancient Hebrew expression of love.

No, we’re not crying – you’re crying.

Yuval’s mother and father were there to witness the beautiful proposal, and were in on the secret for months beforehand. At one point in the video, Yuval’s mother even gives the camera a cheeky wink.

While public proposals and flash mobs are certainly not for everyone, Yuval appears to love it.

The proposal took place in 2015 and Yuval and Mark are now happily married.

As well as his acting and film-making work, Yuval is also an advocate for the Jewish, Israeli-American and LGBT+ communities, and recently spoke out about being discriminated against when he tried to donate plasma to a COVID-19 trial.

The proposal video now has almost two million views on YouTube. One viewer commented: “I have watched this video so many times.

“It lightens my heart to see two people so wonderfully in love. I’ll probably watch it a couple of hundred times over the course of several years!” Same girl, same.

On his YouTube channel, Yuval said: “May this video serve as an example of how beautiful and romantic a loving relationship can be, and inspire others with love and joy, no matter the gender or sexuality of the couple.

“Love and happiness prevail.”
