Anti-LGBT+ radio host Rush Limbaugh, who was recently awarded the Medal of Freedom by Donald Trump, has said Pete Buttigieg kissing his husband causes “problems” for parents.

“So I saw a political ad, where Mayor Pete, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, going on and on and on and on and on, about how parents in America are struggling to explain president Trump to their children,” Limbaugh said, according to Media Matters.

He then held up a photo of Buttigieg kissing his husband Chasten, and said: “You think — natural conclusion — so he says Trump causes problems for parents, what about that?”

He then criticised Buttigieg for kissing his husband “frequently”, because as we all know, queer people love having their affection and love for one another policed by straight people.

Donald Trump awarded Rush Limbaugh the country’s ‘highest civilian honour’ shortly before Pete Buttigieg comments.

The comments come just a week after Trump awarded Limbaugh the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Addressing Limbaugh – who recently revealed a cancer diagnosis – during the State of the Union last week, Trump said: “I am proud to announce tonight that you will be receiving our country’s highest civilian honour, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.”

Rush Limbaugh has a long, long list of anti-LGBT+ beliefs, claiming in 2013 that gay weddings would help to normalise paedophilia.

You think — natural conclusion — so he says Trump causes problems for parents, what about that?

He said: “There is a movement on to normalise paedophilia, and I guarantee you your reaction to that is probably much the same as your reaction when you first heard about gay marriage.

“What has happened to gay marriage? It’s become normal — and in fact, with certain people in certain demographics it’s the most important issue in terms of who they vote for.”

The Trump administration doesn’t seem to care about Limbaugh’s anti-LGBT+ views.

He added: “They want us to all think that paedophilia is just another sexual orientation. You know who’s gonna fall right in line is college kids, just like they have on gay marriage, just like they do on all other revolutionary social issues.”

The conservative radio personality has also previously called on his listeners to discriminate against gay people and blame Islam.

In 2017, Limbaugh attacked the Oscars after Moonlight was named Best Picture, claiming that the Academy was worried about “potential violence” if it didn’t pick a gay-themed film.

Unsurprisingly, Trump remains unbothered by the radio host’s long history of anti-LGBT+ comments.
