Bonafide gay icon and all-round legend Kathryn Hahn is reportedly getting her own WandaVision spin-off, and fans are overjoyed.

WandaVision took the world by storm when it was released on Disney Plus earlier this year – but it was Hahn who really captured fans’ hearts  as the spectacular Agatha Harkness.

According to Variety, a new WandaVision spin-off focusing on Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness character is now in the works at Disney Plus.

According to the trade magazine, the series would see Hahn reprise the role that made her one of the year’s most popular memes. Inside sources told Variety that the new series will be a dark comedy.

It is not yet known what the general plot of the series will be, or whether other WandaVision characters are likely to make an appearance.

However, Variety said WandaVision‘s head writer Jac Schaeffer would serve as writer and executive producer on the spin-off if it gets the final go-ahead.

The new Agatha Harkness series would mark Schaeffer’s first project since he signed a deal with Marvel and 20th Television in May.

To say fans were excited at the prospect of a series dedicated to Agatha Harkness would be an understatement.

WandaVision won an Emmy for the iconic Kathryn Hahn song ‘Agatha All Along’

Hahn captured the interest of fans when she debuted as Agnes, Wanda and Vision’s inquisitive neighbour. It was later revealed that Agnes wasn’t exactly who she said she was – in fact, she was actually a witch called Agatha Harkness who survived the Salem Witch Trials.

Hahn was later nominated for an Emmy for her turn in WandaVision in the Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series category.

The widely-loved series also scooped an Emmy for the song “Agatha All Along”, which became a viral sensation when it was used in the show as part of the reveal that Agnes was actually Agatha.

The news comes just weeks after Variety revealed that Hahn is set to play Joan Rivers in a new series coming to Showtime.

The limited series, titled The Comeback Girl, will also be executive produced by Hahn, while Greg Berlanti will direct and also serve as an executive producer.
