Upcoming ‘Resident Evil REvisited’ Mod to Explore The S.D. Perry ‘Resident Evil’ Novels

Horror

For those who are keen to get into the lore created in the S.D. Perry Resident Evil novels, then you’ll want to keep an eye out for the upcoming Resident Evil REvisited mod. The mod is being developed for the PC version of Resident Evil 2 by the REVisited group, whose goal is to “provide you with something new, but also nostalgic and fun!”

As reported by the fine folks at Residence of Evil, REvisited will feature an all-new story, locations, characters and enemies, and takes place in the Arklay Mountains and Spencer Mansion shortly before the events of the first Resident Evil. You play as Umbrella employee Trent aka Victor Darius, who is sent to collect data from the Spencer Mansion lab. Of course, along the way, Trent encounters zombies, and is forced to take refuge at the A Day in Raccoon Motel in the Arklay Mountains.

The mod will follow the classic RE formula, but will include rooms in the Spencer Mansion from the Gamecube remake, as well as new locations, altered puzzles and new NPCs. The game is a collaborative effort, and according to the group, a demo (which will centre on the A Day in Raccoon Motel location) will be arriving very soon.
