The team behind “Rick and Morty” must be huge horror fans.
Over the years, they’ve done more than a handful of tributes to classic horror films, not to mention spilling an absurd amount of blood and guts throughout the first four seasons.
New episodes are on the way, with Adult Swim teasing the return of “Rick and Morty” with a fifth season on Sunday, June 20 at 11:00 pm ET/PT.
With the news comes a trailer that gives nods to both Marvel’s Blade, not to mention what looks to be an episode fully-dedicated to harpooning Clive Barker’s Hellraiser and its Cenobites!
For those yet to be acquainted, “‘Rick and Morty’ follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. Rick Sanchez is living with his daughter Beth’s family and constantly bringing her, his son-in-law Jerry, granddaughter Summer, and grandson Morty into intergalactic escapades.”
