This Underrated Jordan Peele Series Is Now Streaming for Free!

Before Paramount+, there was CBS All Access. Cue sad trombone music. If you haven’t heard of CBS All Access, you’re definitely not alone. The mucky mucks at Viacom eventually realized that branding their streaming arm CBS All Access was a bad marketing move and renamed the service Paramount+.

I think branding the streaming service CBS All Access was anticlimactic and misleading. I suspect a lot of people thought, “CBS is available for free. Why would I spend money to access their programming?” That ill-advised branding move failed to convey that the streaming service contained content from numerous Viacom properties. Accordingly, the launch of CBS All Access wasn’t everything the network executives had hoped. However, the platform’s inaugural run did produce a couple of good offerings, one of which is Jordan Peele’s The Twilight Zone.

Peele served as the narrator of each episode in this 2019 reboot. Similar to the original incarnation, the redux featured social commentary, moral messaging, and plenty of creepy and surreal setups. What’s more, Viacom made the program available to watch in both color and black-and-white. That’s a cool nod to the original and gives viewers options.

Jordan Peele’s The Twilight Zone stands head and shoulders above previous attempts to reboot the series.

Peele’s take on the property is my favorite of the numerous revamps following the program’s inaugural run. As good as this redux is, I am shocked it doesn’t have a larger fanbase. I think the series is the victim of bad branding. But please don’t let that put you off from checking it out.

If you haven’t taken in the Get Out director‘s update on the classic series, you’re in luck. The show is now available at no cost (with ads) on the Amazon-powered streaming platform FreeVee.

I am including a trailer for you to scope in the player below. Give it a look and you might just find your curiosity piqued.
