Learn Everything About the ‘Alien’ Franchise Before ‘Alien: Romulus’ [Halloweenies Podcast]

Horror

Following the success of Re: Dracula, which recently surpassed 2.2 million lifetime downloads, writer and creator Stephen Indrisano is returning to the Bloody FM network with a new original scripted podcast.

Shelterwood: A Suburban Gothic will bring a unique voice to the network, combining the style of True Crime investigative podcasts and the surreal horror of Silent Hill and Twin Peaks.

Shelterwood: A Suburban Gothic follows podcaster Nicholas DeRoso, who stumbles upon an endless expanse of nightmarish suburbia as he searches for his long-lost sister. Will he find her or be lost to the development beyond the veil? What other secrets does the impossible neighborhood hold?

In addition to his work as a producer, Stephen Indrisano has voiced multiple roles across the network, including episodes of Mayfair Watcher’s Society, The Dead, SCP Archives, and Nightmare Soup.

“This show combines some of my favorite horror obsessions: stories about grief, found footage, and that uncanny feeling of being in unfamiliar ‘burbs late at night,” says Indrisano. “This show was born out of the long walks I used to take at night in the sprawling, maze-like suburbs of Maryland and northern Virginia. When you’re out in those places, you can feel eyes on you all the time. You can feel that you’re an outsider, even if you’re from there. Shelterwood is my way of exploring that paranoia. It’s my way of grappling with wanting the American dream but not really trusting it.”

What other secrets does the impossible neighborhood hold?

When asked why people should listen to the show, they said, “I hope you’ll come for the evil Homeowner’s Association and stay for the heartbreaking and twisty story. This is a great podcast if you’re into complicated characters and weird monsters.”

Shelterwood will debut its 16-episode season on August 15th with Episode 1: Location, Location, Location and Episode 2: Foundations. New episodes will be released biweekly through March 2025. Special crossover episodes are also planned to be released for both Re: Dracula and SCP Archives.

Shelterwood can be found on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other industry-standard podcasting apps.
