Don Mancini’s “Chucky” is back on television, with Season 2 of the continuing adventures of the killer doll premiering just last week on both USA & SYFY. How likely are we to get a third season down the road, you ask? Everything’s looking good on that front, as far as we can tell.
The “Chucky” Season 2 premiere aired on Wednesday, October 5 on USA & SYFY, with roughly 335,000 viewers tuning in live on SYFY and roughly 320,000 tuning in live on USA.
The premiere episode was also uploaded for free on YouTube the following morning, and to date that video has amassed an impressive 700,000 views in less than a full week.
In total, around 1.3 million viewers have tuned in to watch the “Chucky” Season 2 premiere to date, and that’s not counting those who recorded on their DVR to watch later.
For the sake of comparison, the Season 2 premiere drew more live viewers than the Season 1 finale, with these numbers about on par with how Season 1 performed over all.
It would seem horror fans are very much still hungry for Chucky!
In the Season 2 premiere, “A year after seemingly defeating their nemesis Chucky, the “3 Amigos” Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson), and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind) begin receiving mysterious, threatening calls from an all-too-familiar-sounding enemy.”
Watch new episodes of “Chucky” on Wednesdays at 9/8c on SYFY and USA Network.
