‘Evil Dead Rise’: Director Lee Cronin Updates That Filming is Halfway Complete!

Horror

After a standout performance in Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, Nora Arnezeder will next be seen in Saban’s sci-fi movie The Colony, and the official trailer has arrived today.

From executive producer Roland Emmerich, the film looks impressively *big*, with Arnezeder playing an Ellen Ripley-like character fighting to save lives on a distant planet. Speaking of Alien, the film all around has the feeling of something in the Prometheus and Alien: Covenant universe, reminding even more so of Ridley Scott’s HBO Max series “Raised by Wolves.”

Are there creatures in this one? Maybe? We’ll find out soon…

The Colony comes to Theaters, VOD, and Digital on August 27, 2021.

In the sci-fi drama, “Cataclysmic conditions on Earth forced a mass exodus to a distant planet. Generations later, a manned mission hurtles back to assess living conditions on the desolate, mostly submerged world. The sole survivor of the expedition is attacked by a violent band of scavengers, themselves locked in battle with a far more sinister foe. Now, mankind’s very survival depends on the bravery and ingenuity of the lone astronaut.”

Tim Fehlbaum (Apocalypse, Für Julian) co-wrote and directed The Colony.

Sarah-Sofie Boussnina (Department Q: The Absent One, Knightfall, Bron/Broen), Iain Glen (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Resident Evil: Extinction, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter), Sebastian Roché (Odyssey 5, Fringe, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals), and Joel Basman (The Awakening of Motti Wolkenbruch, The Monuments Men, Hanna) also star.
