Cryptic Tweet by ‘Dead by Daylight’ Twitter Account Hints at “Project W” Release Date?

Horror

If you were wondering just when Project W would be hitting Dead by Daylight, you’re not the only one. Behaviour Interactive has been mum on that front, instead sprinkling lore for Survivors Rebecca Chambers and Ada Wong, and new Killer Albert Wesker (known in-game as The Mastermind) for the upcoming crossover. That was until this morning, when the official Dead by Daylight Twitter account posted this:

While Behaviour doesn’t outright say it, according to several leaker sites such as Leaks by Daylight, August 30th is the release date for the Resident Evil crossover with Dead by Daylight. Barring any surprise postponing, Project W will release for PC and consoles next week, and cost $11.99.

Details on the new Chapter are still elusive, but per various leaks (such as the DBDLeaks Twitter), Project W will include a reworked Raccoon City Police Department map, which will now be split into two maps: the East and West Wing. In addition, the Dead by Daylight Fandom page has also given details on the new abilities for Wesker, thanks to the information gleaned from servers testing Project W on the PC version.

Like Nemesis before him, Wesker will have the ability to infect other players, but will have a different functionality to Nemesis’ abilities. Wesker’s Uroboros Infection will build over time, resulting in the Survivor having their movement speed by decreased by -8% once totally afflicted. Those infected with the Uroboros can use the First Aid Spray found on the map to heal themselves, or use it on other Survivors to remove the infection.
