Ahead of this week’s Season 1 finale, we’ve learned that Don Mancini‘s Child’s Play-based “Chucky” series has already been renewed for a second season by USA and SYFY!

Across all platforms, “Chucky” has reached 9.5 million viewers in its first season. The season finale of “Chucky” airs Tuesday, Nov 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on USA and SYFY.

“We’re thrilled to start pulling the strings on a second season of puppet mayhem with Chucky,” said franchise creator Mancini, who executive produces the series. “Many thanks to our partners at USA, Syfy and UCP for their incredible support and guidance bringing Chucky to the small screen, bigger than ever. And to the fans, Chucky sends his still-undying thanks, and a message: ‘This isn’t over, not by a long shot. You better watch your backs in 2022!’”

Season One will come to streaming via Peacock starting December 1, 2021.

Brad Dourif is back as Chucky and Jennifer Tilly is back as Tiffany in “Chucky,” which continues the storylines from the *original* movies and their recent sequels, Curse and Cult of Chucky. Other returning stars include Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce, Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay, and Christine Elise as Kyle. Devon Sawa (Final DestinationHunter Hunter) also stars.

“Chucky” has been described as a “fresh take on the franchise” that’ll “explore Chucky’s character with a depth that is uniquely afforded by the television series format.”

In the series, “After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.”

“Chucky” is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, and executive produced by creator Don Mancini, David Kirschner, Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund and Harley Peyton.
