‘Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’ Has Now Sold 2 Million Copies, New Modes and Multiplayer Coming Soon [Trailer]

Publisher 505 Games and developer ArtPlay have announced that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has finally cracked the two million units sold milestone. The teams also took the opportunity to announce further DLC was headed to the spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night in the form of “VS” and “Chaos” modes, which will also introduce multiplayer to Bloodstained.

“This [2 million copies sold milestone] is due to all the to the support we have received from everyone,” says ArtPlay on the Kickstarter page for Bloodstained. “We would like to sincerely thank you so much. This entire project has been a labor of love for everyone involved.”

As for the upcoming modes, the first footage was previewed in a new video, with more information coming on September 14.

“This [addition of multiplayer] has resulted in some challenges and delays that we that we did not expect, but we continue forward! We are nearing completion of the new content.”

Bloodstained has continued to receive DLC since its launch back in 2019, with the most recent being a crossover area with thatgamecompany’s Journey. Even after the upcoming “VS” and “Chaos” modes, Bloodstained is slated for more DLC this Winter.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is currently available on PC via Steam and GOG, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. A sequel has also been announced.
