‘Aliens: Dark Descent’ Arrives This June for Consoles and PC; New Gameplay Trailer Released [Video]

Horror

We haven’t heard much about Focus Entertainment and developer Tindalos Interactive’s upcoming RTS title Aliens: Dark Descent since it was announced last summer. That’s all changed now, as not only do we have a new gameplay trailer, but also a June release date!

The new trailer walks players through the basics of gameplay, which involves you commanding a team of marines in an original story to investigate a xenomorph outbreak on Moon Lethe. Alongside the standard xenomorphs, you’ll also face off against facehuggers, Praetorians, Queens more. That also includes rogue human commandos and a brand-new threat unique to this storyline.

As you might expect from an RTS, you’ll be issuing commands to your squad, including the use of skills. Thankfully, for those who like to plan things out, you can also slow time during hectic moments to issue orders. You’ll be able to choose from a set of five initial classes of marine, along with the ability to upgrade your team’s abilities, weapons, and armor.

But be careful, as you’ll have to manage and change squad tactics from mission to mission, all the while keeping an eye on your soldiers’ health, resources, and sanity, to avoid permanent team losses and mental breakdowns. And if your squadmates die, it’s permanent.

Aliens: Dark Descent will launch on June 20 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
