Scandi Cool-Girl Brand Rotate Debuts an Escapist Collection in Copenhagen

Fashion & Style

If you haven’t had your summer romance quite yet, let Rotate’s spring/summer 2025 show at Copenhagen Fashion Week be your inspiration for the rest of the season. Set outside at the Garden of the Royal Library, the collection was an ode to summertime escapism, with soft silhouettes and delicate materials that evoked the Art Deco era of the 1920s. “We wanted to create the ultimate mood of summer: the warmth, lightness, freedom, and romance of the season,” co-creative director Jeanette Madsen tells ELLE. Her partner, Thora Valdimars, adds: “We pulled inspiration from many places that reminded us of this mood, and what it formed was a movie like sequence—a visual so strong it felt almost like a real physical emotion.”

Pillowy bubble skirts, lace and floral embroidery over sheer fabric, and a soft color palette of butter yellow, magenta, and ivory added a touch of femininity, while floor-length fringe, hot pants, Henleys, and even a denim gown preserved the edginess that’s central to the brand. Outfits were accessorized with light, sculptural jewelry from Pandora’s Essence Collection, including stacked gold bangles and simple hoop earrings, and global ambassador Pamela Anderson sat front row to take it all in.

The collaboration between Rotate and Pandora went a step further, as Rotate also teamed up with artist Grete Henriette to create unique, bespoke pieces made from existing styles in the jewelry manufacturer’s archive. Notably, the finale dress was an explosion of sparkles, with a skirt made out of 2,000 Pandora tennis bracelets. Henriette and her team worked on the dress for over two weeks straight, connecting the bracelets together and hand-stitching them onto the dress’ bodysuit. The piece itself weighs just over 2 pounds, which is incredibly light considering the amount of metal used.

Other custom moments included jeweled peonies, a take on Rotate’s signature design but comprised of Pandora Rolo chains fashioned into brooches, belts, and necklaces. The belts gave some offerings, like a flowing white dress, a distinctly boho vibe, while others, like a pair of capri trousers paired with a voluminous-sleeved jacket, had a matador-like effect.

The blend of femininity and power made for a collection that was wearable for all types of women, or whatever type of vibe you’re going for on any given day. Sometimes cheeky, sometimes romantic, and sometimes edgy, the Rotate wearer doesn’t have to choose.
