As someone who hasn’t worn skinny jeans since 2016, my firstborn child belongs to vintage denim. I want a pair of no-stretch straight jeans that would make Kaia Gerber proud (and my gynecologist cringe). Sitting down should be a daily struggle, and the leg opening better not touch my ankles.
Once again, Everlane answered my prayers with their newly-launched Super-Straight Jeans, intended for skinny jean haters like me and you. The style is the love child of ’70s vintage Levi’s and ’90s Winona Ryder. It’s basically the perfect pair of jeans.
Like all of Everlane’s denim, this style is eco-friendly and meant to stand the test of time. But unlike the brand’s popular ’90s jean, the new cut isn’t cropped and does not taper toward the bottom. The length of these are slightly longer too, so the hem should kiss your heel similar to how ’90s denim actually fit. and most importantly, it hugs your butt a little bit tighter for a more flattering fit. It’s a mom jean in the front, thotty granddaughter jean in the back.
The Super-Straight Jean comes in four colors: washed black, bone white, medium blue, and a cuffed dark wash reminiscent of The Sandlot, my main source of style inspiration. So for just $78 a pair, you too, can dress like Benny Rodriguez (also swoon), Winona, Kaia, and every other denim legend in the game.
