Camila Morrone Is the First-Ever Face of Brilliant Earth

Fashion & Style

Although the SAG-AFTRA strike rages on, there is one project Emmy-nominated actress Camila Morrone can talk about: her newly minted partnership with fine jewelry brand Brilliant Earth. The announcement comes just as Brilliant Earth launches its latest collection, Sol.

In its 18 years, Brilliant Earth has never had a brand ambassador before—nor has Morrone ever starred in a jewelry campaign. CEO Beth Gerstein says Morrone “truly embodies the spirit of the collection,” per the press release. Meanwhile, the Daisy Jones and the Six actress told ELLE.com exclusively that she was thrilled to work with a brand that puts ethics and sustainability at the forefront.

Brilliant Earth designs with both lab-grown and ethically sourced diamonds and largely uses recycled metals. “Something that really attracted me to Brilliant Earth was the honesty and the transparency,” she said, sharing that she’s a big believer in lab-grown diamonds. “I think a more compassionate jewelry industry is very necessary.”

The new line comprises eight signature pieces crafted with recycled gold and silver, and with conflict-free diamonds. “I love how The Sol Collection celebrates the wearer,” Morrone says. “There are styles that are perfect for almost everyone in your life, and the quality and details make them perfect forever pieces.” And for the actress, longevity is a major selling point.

“I’m big on timeless jewelry…I am someone who lives my life thinking long-term, and that extends to my jewelry purchases. I just really like to own items that will travel with me throughout my whole life.”

The 26-year-old’s favorite items from the Sol collection are the stacking bracelets for their wearability. “I travel and do a lot. I put on a lot of different hats, and whatever I wear, I want [it] to be able to take me through the day, through the night—not to be too precious, but still be delicate,” she says. “I think jewelry can give you an attitude change and a little confidence boost. It has the power to do that.”

It’s no coincidence that Sol dropped just in time for the start of holiday shopping. And as everyone knows, heirloom-quality jewels never make bad gifts. Plus, some of the Sol pieces are customizable. “To me, this collection is so versatile and classic, that it would make a perfect gift that you can’t go wrong with. I love that they feel special, while still being incredibly wearable.”
