2024 VMAs: Shaboozey Admits It “Really Sucks” Beyoncé’ Was Shut Out of 2024 CMA Awards (Exclusive)
Hold up, Shaboozey doesn’t love anyone like he loves Beyoncé.
As the “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” singer—who is up for five Grammys, including Best New Artist, at the upcoming ceremony—reflects on his whirlwind year, he could easily pinpoint who still has him feeling starstruck.
“It’s always cool when the queen comes and tells me, ‘Hey I watched your performance,’” Shaboozey effused to E! News’ Francesca Amiker in an exclusive interview. “I’m like ‘Ah, super sick,’ Gotta keep it in the family.”
And while he and the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer as well as Linda Martell are up for Best Melodic Rap performance together for their Cowboy Carter track “Spaghettii,” she continues to be the top person Shaboozey is over-the-moon to hear from.
“Definitely Beyoncé—always,” he continued. “I love when I get that text from her that’s like, ‘Yeah, you killed it.’”
Indeed, Shaboozey now sees Beyoncé as “the homie,” and he emphasized, “working with her, I’ve learned so much.”
