LeAnn Rimes recently took to social media to share a recent medical treatment she underwent with fans. This notably comes out after sharing another health issue with fans a few months prior. Since then, fans have been sharing words of support with the star on social media.
LeAnn Rimes Recently Had To Take Time Off From 9-1-1: Nashville
Rimes started her career as a singer in the early 1990s. She is known for singles like “Blue,” “How Do I Live,” and “Can’t Fight the Moonlight,” which served as the theme for the film Coyote Ugly.
Over the years, Rimes has also added a few television roles to her resume. Notably, she has served as a coach of the U.K. and Australian versions of The Voice. She’s also served as a performer, guest judge, and even the fourth-season winner of The Masked Singer. In 2025, she was also cast in the main role of Dixie Bennings on 9-1-1: Nashville.

However, news has come out that Rimes took time off from the ABC series as she underwent a unique medical procedure. The singer shared more information about what was going on with a post on Instagram.
In a video, Rimes shared, “If you’ve been following along on my page, you know that on my days off, you can usually find me at Next Health getting a little tune-up.” Noting that fans had been asking her questions, she decided to take them along for the ride.
While at the Nashville medical clinic, Rimes shared the moment of her blood being drawn. She explained, “So, we’re pulling out my plasma from this arm, which has a very large needle in it currently.”
In a caption to the post, Rimes explained that this “removes the liquid portion of blood, known as plasma, which contains proteins, antibodies, toxins, inflammatory agents, and other substances, and replaces it with fresh albumin.” This procedure is also known as “therapeutic plasma exchange.”
Rimes continued, noting that the idea behind the procedures is to remove things such as toxins or “other harmful proteins.” This can help the body recover, which she compared to an “oil change.”
Some Fans Shared Their Own Experiences With Similar Treatments With The Star On Social Media
During the video, Rimes showed off a bag of her old plasma. She shared, “That’s my sludge. All my little plastic particles and mold and nastiness is coming out.” She also jokingly thanked the plasma for its service as she said goodbye.
Following this, Rimes noted that, after receiving a “push of stem cells,” she would have some flu-like symptoms. She also seemed to be dealing with a headache. The video ended with the star getting a snack.

Notably, this share comes out months after Rimes lost teeth back in June. As she shared on TikTok at the time, her dental bridge fell out during a performance at Washington’s Skagit Valley Casino & Resort.
At the time, Rimes shared, “If you’ve been around, you know I’ve had a lot of dental surgeries, and I have a bridge in the front. And it fell out in the middle of my song last night,” explaining she had to run off stage to fix her teeth.
With this recent share, fans took to social media to share words of support with the singer. A few also shared their own personal health journeys with Rimes. Some comments included:
- “Glad to see you’re staying healthy this new year.”
- “Amazing once again and always happy to show my support.”
- “How often do you do this? I do cleanses about every six months or try to… but this intrigues me!”
- “How long did the process take. Science is amazing!!!”
