Hollywood is saying goodbye to Julian McMahon.

The actor, who was known for roles in TV series including Nip/Tuck, Charmed and FBI: Most Wanted, died July 2 at Florida home, his wife Kelly McMahon confirmed to Deadline. He was 56.

“With an open heart,” Kelly said in a statement July 4, “I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.”

Kelly went on to describe her late husband, whom she wed in 2014, as a man who “loved life.”

“He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work and he loved his fans,” she continued. “His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible.”

“We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy,” Kelly concluded. “And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.”
