This New Clint Eastwood Thriller Is Streaming Exclusively On Max
Horror

Clint Eastwood has a proven track record of delivering feature films that yield impressive returns at the box office. With that in mind, it’s strange to think that his latest effort, Juror #2, almost went direct-to-streaming. Warner Brothers eventually agreed to play the picture in a whopping 35 US theaters before debuting the project on Max on December 20, 2024. That strategy seems to suggest the distributor didn’t have faith in the film. But they should. Eastwood is a legend with a knack for drawing an audience.

Regardless of the inexplicable release strategy, the film is connecting with critics and moviegoers alike. Take that, Warner Brothers. Mere days after debuting on Max, the flick is already ‘certified fresh’ on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 93%. Moreover, the film has a dynamite user rating (Popcornmeter score) of 91%. I can only imagine Juror #2 would have pulled respectable numbers up at the domestic box office if the suits at Warner Brothers had invested in a wider theatrical exhibition. But the studio continues to baffle and perplex at every turn. Need I remind you about the infamous Batgirl fiasco?

A juror for a high-profile murder trial finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma that could influence the verdict and potentially convict, or free, the accused killer.

In case the iconic Clint Eastwood at the helm isn’t enough to pique your curiosity, allow me to mention that Juror #2 has a star-studded cast. The picture’s impressive talent roster includes Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, J. K. Simmons, Zoey Deutch, Chris Messina, Cedric Yarbrough, and Kiefer Sutherland. Not too shabby.

The film also happens to reunite Collette and Hoult after their turn as mother and son in the romantic dramedy About a Boy.

It’s also worth mentioning that Eastwood was 93 years old when production on Juror #2 commenced. The filmmaker is living proof that age doesn’t have to slow you down.

That’s all we have for you at present. Stay tuned to Dread Central for more exciting updates about which genre films are available to stream and where to find them.
