The Illmatic collaborators reunite for a new track to mark the 30th anniversary of the iconic album
Nas’ iconic debut album, Illmatic, celebrates its 30th anniversary today (April 19). To mark the occasion, the Queens rapper has released a new song with one of his most famous Illmatic collaborators, DJ Premier. Listen to the hip-hop artists’ “Define My Name” below.
“Define My Name” is released via Nas’ Mass Appeal. According to a press release, the rapper and DJ Premier are going to drop a collaborative album later in 2024.
DJ Premier produced Illmatic’s “N.Y. State of Mind,” “Memory Lane (Sittin’ in da Park),” and “Represent.” He also contributed to Nas’ It Was Written, I Am…, Nastradamus, and Stillmatic.
Nas released two studio albums in 2023: the Hit-Boy collaborations Magic 2 and Magic 3.
